BLIA Emblem
Roundness represents wholeness without hidrance
A circle has neither a beginning nor an end. It symbolizes the perpetual and continuous enlightened mind that journeys throughout the world without hindrance, thus enabling the constant turning of the Dharma wheel. Within this roundness, the lotus flower blossoms, signifying the embodiment of purity. As we pledge our bodhicitta within the dharma realms without hindrance, our mind blossoms like the lotus flowers, spreading throughout the world. When the light of compassion enters the human mind, every person shares the same resolve, ultimately turning the earth into a pure land with all beings attaining enlightenment.Roundness represents the mundane world (globe); the lotus flower represents transcending the mundane (purity)
The roundness of our globe represents the mundane world whereas the lotus flower symbolizes the truth that transcends the mundane. In the world of the latter, there is neither rising nor ceasing, it is pure without defilements. We need to combine both worlds together. As the lotus flower grows from the mud without being defiled, its light of purity in turn shines back on the globe so that our world will be the perfect one in the universe. This symbolizes the non-duality of both the mundane and supramundane as well as that of bodhi and afflictions allowing this world to become a true dharma realm. The purity of the lotus flower will sublimate the whole world to become a pure land on earth. May lotus flowers in everyone’s mind flourish everywhere.
